Anyone know of a decent group or Alpine Snowboarding training school in New York, USA?
I used to practise a lot so i am looking for a new club. What can you say about this place there and also the organization. What facilities etc. Does it have more in training like a gym or kung fu classes?Has anyone tried this http://www.martialarm.com I want to stay in shape and so your help is appreciated.Regards
hey alpine is the best.!over here in Chicago Illinois at alpine valley they taught us everything we needed to know about snowboarding. So yes it’s reliable. If you go there your lucky.
on the west coast, i would say Lake Tahoe or Utah. The USOC has a facility in Colarado. On the East Coast in New england. remember one of the gold medal winners in snowboarding started right here in maine
if you mean how long does it take to learn how to snowboard on a basic level?
probably about five 2 hour sessions with a proper snowboard instructor.
double that if you want to learn on your own, although i wouldnt advise that. that always winds up badly. its better to have someone in the know teach you. works out better.
however, if you mean to train in order to get good?
forever
literally
i’ve been snowboarding since i was 8.
im 17 now and i still suck =P
Yeah, I’m not too sure on the validity of the last response, however without being condescending towards that person, some much better activities would be all around plyometrics, such as squat jumps, where you leap foreward like a frog, lunges, weighted lunges, and my all time favorite, box squat jumps, where you would have either one or multiple boxes or comprable things about 24 inches tall, and you jump on and off. Those primarily focus on your quads. More great exersizes that would help would be to target your abs, with simple exersizes such as crunches, targeting both sides as well as the core, and planks, supporting your body on your arms with a low center of gravity for as long as your body can sustain, moving to the sides to equally build abdominal muscle. Those are some workouts that I do to build up, let me know if they help.
Anyone know where I can find a training center with a foam pit for snowboarding on the East Coast?
Or just a foam pit anywhere on the East Coast open to the public.
Thank you but I know about Woodward. The camp isn’t exactly open to the public. You have to pay $900+ to go there. I’m looking for a place that I can just walk in and work out.
