Shaun White has been one of the most talented snowboarders lately. He holds many of the highest accolades within snowboarding and skateboarding. He started to his Olympics career in 2006 and won a gold medal in men's halfpipe in Turin, Olympic Winter Games. By this time, he won 13 career Winter X Games medals, 6 of which are superpipe. In February 2009, he won a gold medal in the World Cup event at Cypress Mountain and won the Winter Dew tour in 2008-09. He also competes as a skateboarder and he has won three Summer X Games medals.
In one word, Shaun White possesses awesome skills and instantly recognizable looks. This talented snowboarder won a gold medal in Vancouver 2010 Olympics too. You can see the details and a video about this below:

Before going on talking about his success in 2010, let me talk briefly about who Shaun White is. Shaun Roger White was born in San Diego, CA in 1986. Unfortunately, he had two big surgeries before he was one year old about a heart defect. However, this did not prevent him from charging into sports like surfing, soccer and snowboarding at a very young age.
Growing in a family of five, his family spent the weekends on trips to local mountains most of the time. And that is when he started skiing, at the age of four. Soon, his parent noticed his ability on snowboarding and supported him as much as possible. He entered his first amateur snowboard contest when he was only seven and turned into a pro with the support of his sponsor at the age of 13. He won 5 national titles as an amateur and in 2001, captured his first major win.
2010 Olympics is the second consecutive win of Shaun for the US. He unleashed a series of 5 spectacular tricks, capped off his double flipping, three-and-a-half spin to win. Even before his last run, his championship was obvious. He got a winning score of 48.4 and his teammate Scott Lago, took the bronze medal.
What a great accomplishment for a person having serious surgeries at the time he was a baby.
